The Student Experience

“I cannot tell you what a joy it has been to see my son come home from school with a smile on his face! The Pinnacle team provided the individualized attention, professionalism, and program design expertise to address his specific needs. This had been impossible to achieve within the public school system. Pinnacle rose to the challenge, and then some! Not only has my son’s academic output increased tenfold, but he is well on his way to crafting a new self-image: one in which he views himself as an empowered, competent student whose thoughts and ideas have value. What a gift! Thank you, Pinnacle!!”

“We looked all over CT and NY to find a high school for our son. He has his sights set on college and we want to help him get there. Pinnacle presented the only program that could challenge him academically and support his unique needs. Here he is taught by expert teachers who 'get' him and see his capabilities. He loves going to school and is so happy to tell us about the true friends he has made. We are so fortunate to have found such a remarkable group of professionals. Thank you.”

I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for working with my son. I finally feel he’s at a school that meets his needs—where he’s not viewed as a problem to solve, but a person to teach. All of your teachers are fantastic human beings. I am looking forward to working with all of you to help him meet his potential.

The day our daughter came home and said, ‘Mom, I think this school knows how to teach me,’ we knew we had found the right place.  Thank you to the teachers, psychologists, and staff that helped to unlock our daughter’s potential.

"I want to let you know that our son was accepted to his top choice for private high school for the fall and he is very excited. Thank you again for helping them see him as a strong candidate. We appreciate all the help that Pinnacle has given him to reach this point. When he came to your school, he was in a very low place regarding his self esteem and his abilities. As a result of the attention he has received at Pinnacle, his self esteem has grown and he feels confident for the first time about his skills. He feels successful for the first time in his life. I am confident that he will continue to be a success story for Pinnacle and the strong foundation of learning skills and confidence that it has set in place."

“No other school has ever done more to help my child. We could not be any happier than we are. [The staff are] the most caring, empathetic psychologists and teachers we have ever met. They truly value the student needs first and never give up.” - Pinnacle Parent

My experience consulting for a few families whose children attend The Pinnacle School has been most positive and rewarding. I found my input to be received with gratitude and interest for the betterment of the child. I have worked with the team of special educators, speech-language pathologists, teachers, psychologists, all of whom are exceptional not only in his/her area of knowledge but in the ability to work collaboratively for the benefit of the student. It has been a wonderful experience for me to have the privilege to work with such outstanding people. Further, the students are provided unique opportunities and experiences that enrich their education and life. It is such a good place!

"I wanted to take a moment and thank you and the staff for the tremendous improvements we are seeing in our son not only behaviorally, but also academically. The enormous growth that I've seen in a relatively short period of time I believe has to do with the entire team and the intensive onsite occupational therapy support that our son is now receiving. In this short period of time I've seen such a dramatic improvement in his ability to track while reading and a huge gain in his flow of reading the words correctly. In just a few weeks' time, I have seen a significant gain in him trying to sound the words out more, tracking his reading for a line or two without losing his place vs. losing his place every couple of words. He has transitioned to reading the majority of his 20 minutes each night vs. me in the past doing the brunt of the reading. Job well done to the entire staff!"
